C.R.I.B. is now on its Year 5!

One of the tatak-KG initiatives, C.R.I. B., is now on its 5th year. Looking back, this program started in 2014 as baby project of current Immediate Past President, JCI Owen Jaen, with his batch mates. Originally termed as Christmas in a Basket, the intended beneficiary that time were the patients at the JR Borja Hospital Pediatric Ward since it was Christmas and the kids were excited to receive some gifts. Surprisingly the support to this project overflowed that the group were able to give more baskets at the Geriatric Ward of the said hospital. Each basket contained groceries and staples for Christmas, as well as gifts for the children.

For its year 2, another batch of babies adopted the project and it was coined as Christmas in a Box and the group decided to give the gifts and groceries to the chosen impoverished families so they can experience Noche Buena.

Year 3 came and we implemented a very unique C.R.I.B. It was implemented on December 2016 at Camp Evangelista, months after the Marawi siege happened. Another batch of KG babies implemented the project and named it as Care and Recognition in a Bundle and the beneficiaries were the government military troops who helped out fight the war that happened in Marawi City. The chapter also gave recognition to the troops.

We never expected for another run of C.R.I.B. but last December 2017, we went to the City Jail and implemented its 4th run. The female inmates were the beneficiary of the said project entitled again as Christmas in a Box Year 4. We gave boxes of hygiene kits to all the lady inmates. Photos of this activity are posted in our Facebook Page.

For the 5th run this year, we went out looking for another beneficiary and we were blessed to meet the people behind Nehemiah's House, a center for victims of child rape and abuse. It was a day of Christmas merriment where we did a Christmas program, an art session, storytelling activity, zumba/dance session, and the actual giving of the gifts. JCI Kagayhaan Gold conducts UNSDG Project in Barangay Gusa

On December 8, 2018, JCI Kagayhaan Gold conducted its 2nd UNSDG project under its tatak-KG initiative, Teach the Streets Year 3. It was also the second part of the Kids for Christmas fundraising activity of the chapter wherein the funds raised during the workshops last December 1, 2018 were used for this UNSDG project in Purok 3A Barangay Gusa.

The first activity conducted was a Nutrition Talk given by the Nutritionist-Dietician of DepEd Region X, Ms Shiella Balbanida. She discussed about the 10 Kumainments, Pinggang Pinoy, and the value of Handwashing and Toothbrushing to prevent malnutrition among children.

The second part was the actual feeding activity and a mini-Christmas program which gave joy and fun moments to the chosen kids/beneficiaries of the Barangay as given by the Purok leader.

The activity was made possible through a partnership with the Gusa Elementary School Supreme Pupil Government and Teachers' Initiatives, Inc.
