JCI Kagayhaan Gold conducts UNSDG Awareness Campaign and Forum

November 16, 2018 The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals is an initiative to provide sustainable future for everyone by addressing global challenges. The 17 goals are interconnected and are aimed to be targeted by 2030.

JCI Kagayhaan Gold, one of the chapters of the Junior Chamber International which is a long-time partner of the United Nations, conducted a UNSDG Awareness Campaign and Forum. The activity aimed to orient students and the youth from basic education about the UNSDGs particularly Goal #3 Good Health and Well Being, Goal #4 Quality Education, Goal #12 Responsible Consumption and Production, and Goal #13 Climate Action. The organization believes that by conducting this awareness campaign and forum, it will motivate and encourage the youth to respond to the call by helping address the different goals in their own little ways. The organization also believes that it is important to let the youth take part in this advocacy since they will become the leaders of the future generation.

Nadine Angelica Gadia from Modern Nanays of Mindanao, Brian Adam Anay of PAGBASA, Shariffa Patayon of Happy Earth Store, and Jessica Wu of The Climate Reality Project Philippines are the speakers for the event. These esteemed speakers from different sectors will discuss their initiatives to eradicate societal problems and suggest solutions on how the youth can take part with this advocacy.

The UNSDG Awareness Campaign and Forum is in partnership with Ayala Foundation, Leadership Communities, Balay Mindanaw, and the City Government of Cagayan de Oro. It will happen on November 16, 2018 1-5pm at Centrio Mall, Cagayan de Oro City.

JCI Kagayhaan Gold's First Fundraising Training was a success

On November 10, 2018, our chapter conducted the first fundraising training for the year, the Basic Adobe Photoshop Workshop for Beginners. The workshop was delivered by a reputable speaker, Romando Lonon, a motion graphics designer of Plattypines, and facilitated by our very own Immediate Past President, JCI Owen Jaen.

14 participants from different sectors registered and joined the workshop. They did not only learned a skill, they were also able to help our community development programs with their registration.

Congratulations to all of us!
